Threads Temporarily Ceasing Operations in Turkey as per Regulatory Authority Directives.

Meta has announced the temporary suspension of its Threads social platform services in Turkey, effective from April 29 onwards, in compliance with the directives of the Turkish Competition Authority (TCA).

TCA cited that Threads’ integration with Instagram accounts and data exchange between the two platforms as a means to enhance Meta’s market power in the competitive landscape.

Meta has yet to specify the timeline for complying with the directive to enable Threads to resume services in Turkey. However, users in Turkey are advised to choose between deactivating their Threads accounts to re-enable them in the future or to delete their accounts altogether.
