Title: Sony Relents, Ends Mandatory PSN Login for PC Games, Encourages PSN Usage with In-Game Rewards

Sony has announced a “retreat” in terms of enforcing logins for PlayStation Network accounts for their own PC games, even for single-player games. Sony’s new approach involves incentivizing people to log in to PSN by giving away in-game rewards instead, such as special suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, armors in God of War Ragnarok, bonus points in The Last of Us Part II Remastered to unlock special content.

The changes will take effect on January 30th, coinciding with the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC.

TLDR: Sony will no longer require logins for PlayStation Network accounts for their PC games and will instead offer in-game rewards as incentive.
