Apple has quietly made a small change that was not announced in the WWDC24 keynote note. The login authentication service Apple ID will be renamed to Apple Account.
Apple has released a statement about new features in the operating system set to be released this year. At one point, it was revealed that with the release of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and watchOS 11, the Apple ID service will be renamed to Apple Account to provide a consistent experience across all Apple services.
Currently, most of Apple’s services are already referred to as Apple Account, with some still using Apple ID, such as logging in through the website. All of these will be under the umbrella term Apple Account within this year.
