The TikTok saga in the United States is far from over. President Donald Trump has issued an order to postpone the app’s ban in the country for 75 days. However, the legal implications remain in effect, as TikTok is required to sell its business in America within a limited timeframe.
Most recently, Trump revealed to reporters while traveling back to Washington D.C. on Air Force One that a deal for TikTok’s business in America is likely to happen soon. Currently, the US government has been in negotiations with interested parties, consisting of four groups each with multiple companies and individuals involved.
One of the four groups that may be part of the deal is Project Liberty led by Frank McCourt, a billionaire businessman who expressed interest as early as January before the ban was enforced. The other groups have not made official announcements, and Elon Musk has already denied any involvement.
