TSMC has officially confirmed that they will start volume production of 2-nanometer chips in the second half of 2025 as originally planned, utilizing their facilities in Kaohsiung and Hsinchu.
In addition to the production of 2nm chips, TSMC has also confirmed plans to build a chip manufacturing plant in Taiwan following speculations of investing $100 billion in the United States, causing concern among Taiwanese citizens about the lack of investment in Taiwan.
Previously, there were rumors that Apple would be one of the first customers for the 2nm chips, but TSMC has not confirmed this information.
