TSMC Factory in State of Arizona Poised to Ramp Up Production in Line with Yield Plan, Close to Facilities in Taiwan

Bloomberg reported that sources within TSMC discussed the advancements of chip manufacturing plants in the Arizona region of the United States, suggesting that production could commence soon. Initial testing of the production line yielded success rates, or Yields, similar to those in Taiwan.

Previously, TSMC announced a delay in starting production in Arizona from late 2024 to 2025 due to labor shortages. However, the results from the testing of this production line have TSMC gearing up to start production by April of next year, utilizing 4-nanometer technology.

A TSMC representative commented on this news report, stating that everything is progressing as planned with a positive outlook. The TSMC plant in the United States is being constructed with government funding under the CHIPS Act, with Apple being one of the companies that have announced plans to purchase chips from this plant.
