Ubisoft’s Chief Executive Officer Informs: Skull and Bones Priced at a Reasonable $70, Ideal for Discerning Gamers Seeking an AAAA-rated Game.

Yves Guillemot, the co-founder and CEO of Ubisoft, recently defended the $70 price tag of the game Skull and Bones during a Q&A session discussing Ubisoft’s third-quarter game sales. He argued that this price is appropriate and sees the game as a Quadruple-A (AAAA) title.

When asked why Ubisoft insists on selling Skull and Bones at $70, considering that the player base may be limited, some suggested that this type of Live Service game should adopt a Free to Play model to increase the chances of building a player community.

In response, Guillemot stated that Skull and Bones is packed with rich content. Players will witness the enormity and completeness of the game, making it a Quadruple-A (AAAA) title. It offers extensive gameplay for players to enjoy.

Skull and Bones is set to be released on February 16th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Its development started back in 2013, drawing inspiration from the naval system and combat of the game Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which was first introduced in 2017. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Singapore.
