Ubuntu 25.04 Released: New ISO Image for ARM64 or Snapdragon X CPUs

Ubuntu 25.04, known as “Plucky Puffin,” has officially been released and is now available for download. This new version includes several exciting updates:

– Kernel 6.14 introduces a new scheduling system called sched_ext.
– GNOME 48 is now included in the desktop environment.
– A new PDF reader named Papers has been added.
– The geolocation database system BeaconDB has replaced Mozilla’s old system, allowing for better time zone detection, automatic theme and nightlife mode changes.
– The installer has been improved to work seamlessly with other operating systems, including better compatibility with BitLocker partitions.
– The introduction of devpacks, starting with devpack-for-spring, for programming tasks (a bundle derived from the snap package), has been implemented.

– AMD SEV-SNP (Secure Encrypted Virtualization – Secure Nested Paging) command set separates virtual machine execution for enhanced security.
