Mark Gurmn, a Bloomberg veteran, reported in this week’s Power On newsletter that Apple is set to unveil a software-hardware combo soon. Starting with iOS 18.1, which will be the first iOS version to feature the Apple Intelligence AI. Gurmn mentioned Apple’s plan to release an update for general users on October 28, which was originally scheduled for mid-October but delayed due to bug reviews and ensuring the Private Cloud server processing power can handle the load.
iOS 18.1 will initially have limited Apple Intelligence features, including Writing Tools, Notification Summaries, photo management in Photos, and improved Siri (but not all features). Gurmn also shared the launch date for the new hardware, including the M4 chip MacBook Pro, M4 chip iMac, M4 chip Mac mini, and the new iPad mini, all set to go on sale on Friday, November 1. However, there is no information yet on when Apple will hold a press conference or if they will opt for a product introduction video only.
