Unconfirmed: Microsoft and OpenAI Investigating Massive Data Extraction Incident Possibly Linked to DeepSeek

Bloomberg has revealed that Microsoft and OpenAI are currently investigating potential misuse of data generated by OpenAI’s technology, which may be linked to China’s artificial intelligence development group DeepSeek.

The issue arose when Microsoft’s cybersecurity research team discovered a significant amount of data being improperly extracted through OpenAI’s API. Microsoft promptly reported this issue to OpenAI for further investigation into this suspicious activity.
