Unconfirmed: SoftBank Adjusts OpenAI’s Business Valuation to $2.6 Trillion for a New Investment Round of $40 Billion.

David Faber, a reporter for CNBC, has shared information from a news source regarding SoftBank’s new investment plan in OpenAI worth $4 billion. The business valuation was previously reported at $2.6 trillion, a decrease from the earlier $3 trillion figure and a step down from the initial $3.4 trillion estimation.

Part of this new investment will be used by OpenAI to fund the development of AI infrastructure in America, specifically the Stargate project, in which SoftBank is also involved. Prior to this, OpenAI and SoftBank announced their collaboration on Cristal Intelligence, an advanced AI for corporate clients.
