Unlocking WP Engine’s Server-Level Block Access on WordPress.org – Take Control of Your Website’s Security Now!

The internal war within the world of WordPress continues to unfold. It all started with Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress, criticizing WP Engine as a malignant growth. In response, WP Engine’s camp claimed to have been demanded by Matt’s company, Automattic, to fork over tens of millions of dollars annually and threatened legal action against Matt/WordPress.org.

Most recently, Matt took to his blog on WordPress.org to express that due to WP Engine’s legal actions against WordPress.org, WP Engine’s customers should no longer access the free resources of WordPress.org, such as the support forums. Instead, if they encounter issues, they should contact WP Engine’s support team themselves.

Matt insists that the current WordPress system is secure and not heavily hacked due to Automattic’s network-level protection and numerous online services that provide support, such as the login system, update system, bug management, and more. These services require investments, so WP Engine would need to invest in similar systems. Moving forward, WordPress.org will block access from WP Engine’s servers to prevent free usage of these services.
