Unraveling from Russia: Blocking Total Access from Russia in September 2024

Notion, the note-taking app, has announced its withdrawal from doing business in Russia in compliance with the ban imposed by the US government. This decision will take effect on September 9, 2024.

Users of Notion will no longer be able to access Notion’s online services from within Russia. If they have paid accounts registered in Russia, they will be unable to use them, and workspaces linked to those accounts will be closed.

Users can download their data from Notion’s servers, supporting formats such as PDF, HTML, and CSV.

Notion is the latest American technology company to pull out of Russia, following earlier withdrawals by major companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, Netflix, Tinder, Dell, IBM, HP, and Cisco during the years 2022-2023.
