On July 18, 2024, Microsoft hosted the first Xbox Discovery Day in Bangkok, with over 120 Thai game developers and industry players in attendance.
Jun Shen Chia, the Global Expansion Lead at Microsoft, shared his experience of engaging with game developers from Southeast Asia for over 2 years. The Thai developers were eager to know when Xbox would make its presence felt in Thailand, making this event a significant milestone for Xbox in officially connecting with the Thai game development community.
Representatives from Microsoft also met with various government agencies such as Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), Digital Innovative Design and Technology Center (DIDTC), TGA (Thai Game Software Industry Association) to gather insights from Thai game developers.
In Microsoft’s post, they highlighted several Thai games including Home Sweet Home (Yggdrazil), Timelie (Urnique), M.A.S.S Builder (Vermillion Digital), Land Beneath Us (FairPlay studios), Lost and Found Co. (Bit Egg), Aether: Wizard Life (Vonder Games), Seed of Heroes (Vermillion Digital), Northwind (Barking Kitten Interactive).
