Unveiling Copilot Integration in Excel using Python: Command Copilot for Python Code Writing and Data Analysis in Excel

Microsoft has announced news regarding Copilot in Excel as follows:

Copilot in Excel features utilize Copilot to assist in writing formulas, creating graphs, and has now reached the status of generally available for widespread use. Additionally, it supports more complex formulas such as XLOOKUP and SUMIF.

Building on the aforementioned features, Copilot in Excel with Python takes formula writing to the next level by enabling Copilot to assist in writing Python code in Excel for advanced data analysis.

Utilizing Copilot in Excel with Python is similar to the regular Copilot in Excel. Simply open Copilot in the sidebar and command as needed. The only difference is adding the command “in Python” after the prompt (refer to accompanying clip).

Copilot in Excel with Python supports standard Python libraries such as pandas, Matplotlib, and scikit-learn for utilization. This feature is currently in Insider testing with Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed customers.
