Square Enix has unveiled Fantasian Neo Dimension for PC and consoles like Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S in late 2024, confirming previous rumors.
Fantasian is an RPG crafted by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the mastermind behind Final Fantasy, who later founded his own company, Mistwalker, in 2004. Fantasian, his latest creation, was released in 2021 exclusively on Apple Arcade platform.
The storyline of Fantasian follows the protagonist Leo, who has lost his memories and embarks on an adventure in a fantastical world. The gameplay features a traditional turn-based RPG style with a unique “cage” system that temporarily traps monsters in a dimension called Dimengeon, allowing players to avoid combat on the map. However, once a certain level of monsters are trapped, they must be faced in battle.
The Neo Dimension version of the game includes both Japanese and English voiceovers, upgraded 4K graphics, and a selectable difficulty mode (normal difficulty, as the original version was deemed too challenging for some players).
