Warhorse Studios has unveiled the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – the sequel to the RPG game set in medieval Europe that was released in 2018. Founded in the Czech Republic, Warhorse Studios was established by former members of the 2K Czech team who decided to create Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which drew inspiration from their homeland, narrating the historical events of the Kingdom of Bohemia in the 15th century. The first installment of the game was a massive success, selling over 6 million copies and receiving critical acclaim for its historical accuracy. The game’s intricate internal system led to it winning multiple Best RPG awards from various institutions that year.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues the story directly from the first installment, featuring the same protagonist, Henry of Skalitz, but expanding the game on a larger scale, including the map, the in-game world, and the storyline that sees Henry navigating high-level politics.
The game continues to utilize the CryEngine, just like its predecessor, and is set to be released in 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Following the success of the first game, Warhorse Studios was acquired by Koch Media in 2019 (at that time, Koch Media was part of the Embracer Group), placing Warhorse Studios under the umbrella of the Embracer Group. As a result, the game will be published by Deep Silver, another brand within the Embracer Group.
TLDR: Warhorse Studios introduces Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, the highly anticipated sequel to the successful RPG game, set in medieval Europe. The game expands on the original, featuring the same protagonist in a larger-scale world with deeper political intrigue. Scheduled for release in 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game is now under the Embracer Group’s umbrella, published by Deep Silver.
