Believed that nowadays many people might have gotten used to transferring money through various bank applications, each of which may have features summarizing income and expenses. However, if users have multiple accounts in different banks, limited features specific to one bank may not be enough or meet the needs to summarize expenses each month.
Today, the Blognone team would like to introduce the MeowJot app, a expense tracking application developed by KBTG Labs and Beacon Interface, inspired by the habit of saving money in a hidden cat purse where cats like to secretly grab coins to keep. Just like how MeowJot grabs receipts from users’ phones to read and track expenses, using the Siamese cat as a mascot for the app’s concept due to its auspiciousness and belief that raising a cat will bring good fortune.
The origin and journey of the MeowJot app began with Beacon Interface and collaborated with KBTG Labs, starting from understanding insights into expense tracking and developing it into the MeowJot app that was launched at the end of 2023. The development team aims for MeowJot to be an application/platform that promotes a cashless society following BOT policies and encourages Thais to have better financial discipline. On the business side, the development team seeks to create revenue streams, establish a brand identity, and have clear products to ensure the sustainable presence of MeowJot.
Using MeowJot is a breeze. After opening the app, the cute cat will request access to our image gallery to scan receipts. The app will then summarize expenses from scanned receipts and display detailed day-by-day breakdowns on the main page. MeowJot can read receipts from 12 banking apps, showing transactions from 7 to 30 days ago depending on the app. For example, the K PLUS app can display transactions for 30 days, while SCB Easy shows transactions for 7 days.
At this point, users can view each expense to see which bank the transaction was made to and categorize and add details for a more comprehensive financial tracking. Importantly, while importing data solely from transfer receipts may not be enough, users can manually input both income and expenses for complete financial management. Apart from viewing expenses in a timeline, MeowJot also allows users to see a pie chart summary based on different expense categories specified by the user in each transaction. The app updates daily to show how many receipts have been recorded for the day.
In conclusion, although the app has recently been released, with 28,000 downloads in the launch period, KBTG Labs states that the app functions quite well. The feature of reading receipts from the image gallery makes expense tracking more convenient, leading the team to consider expanding this feature to delivery or shopping apps for added convenience. Moving forward, KBTG Labs is exploring potential opportunities.
For now, the Blognone team believes that MeowJot is an app worth keeping on your phone to summarize expenses that may slip through the cracks between months, conveniently view past transactions, and manage spending efficiently to save for the future.
