Unveiling Omnissa: The New Company Breaking Away from VMware to Provide Horizon and Workspace One Services.

In a recent development, VMware sold its End-User Computing (EUC) business to investment firm KKR in February 2024. The newly separated company from VMware has been named Omnissa.

Omnissa will provide virtual desktop software, Horizon, and endpoint management solutions, Workspace One, independently from VMware. With a workforce of 4,000 employees, Omnissa generates an annual revenue of $1.5 billion and serves 26,000 organizations. The former EUC business head at VMware, Shankar Iyer, who has over a decade of experience in this field at VMware, now serves as the CEO of Omnissa.
