Atlus has unveiled the game Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance, an expansion of Shin Megami Tensei V exclusively released for the Nintendo Switch in 2021. Unlike other studios in the current era that sell expansions as DLC or Expansion Pass, Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance requires players to purchase and play it anew on June 21 on Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance will bring new storylines for players to choose from at the beginning of the game, whether to play the original storyline or the new one. Atlus mentioned that completing both storylines would take approximately 160 hours in total (an average of 80 hours per storyline).
The Megami Tensei series is the main RPG game of Atlus originally launched in 1987 before being renamed Shin Megami Tensei in 1992. It has since branched out into several sub-series, one of which is Persona, the most popular standalone game series from Atlus today.
