Renowned game developer Peter Molyneux, known for classics such as Populous, Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, and Fable, is back with a new “god game” titled Masters of Albion. This comes after the lackluster reception of Godus in 2014.
In Masters of Albion, players will be tasked with building a small village in the heart of a forest. During the day, resources must be managed and structures built similar to typical simulation games. However, at night, players will have to fend off monsters trying to invade, taking on the role of the village hero and transitioning to an action-packed third-person perspective to battle the creatures.
The standout feature of Masters of Albion lies in its detailed management system, where players must oversee every aspect from what the villagers eat to the contents of their sandwich. The game also emphasizes the “god game” aspect, allowing players to act as deities with hands that can interact with objects and characters in the game, reminiscent of Molyneux’s previous works like Black & White.
Molyneux admitted at Gamescom that he had strayed into mobile gaming for too long and felt the urge to come back home to PC gaming. Masters of Albion represents a return to his roots, pulling back together his old team of developers. This game is entirely self-funded by Molyneux and involves a team of around 20 members.
The game has been announced for PC on Steam but no release date has been specified yet.

**TLDR:**
Peter Molyneux returns to PC gaming with the new “god game” Masters of Albion, focusing on village management by day and monster battles by night, all while embracing the detailed oversight and godly interactions characteristic of his classic titles.
