AMD introduces the gaming-focused Ryzen 8000HX “Dragon Range Refresh,” a revamped version of the Ryzen 7000HX “Dragon Range” released in 2023. The Ryzen 8000HX features Zen 4 cores built on a 5nm process, with a Radeon 610M GPU powered by RDNA2 architecture with 2 compute units (CUs), supporting DDR5-5200 memory and PCIe 5.0.
The Ryzen 8000HX lineup includes four sub-models:
– Ryzen 9 8945HX: 16 cores, 32 threads, clock speeds of 5.4/2.5GHz, 80MB cache, 2 CUs, cTDP 55-75W.
– Ryzen 9 8940HX: 16 cores, 32 threads, clock speeds of 5.3/2.4GHz, 80MB cache, 2 CUs, cTDP 55-75W.
– Ryzen 7 8840HX: 12 cores, 24 threads, clock speeds of 5.1/2.9GHz, 76MB cache, 2 CUs, cTDP 45-75W.

In addition, AMD has plans for the Ryzen 9000HX “Fire Range” with Zen 5 architecture targeting the premium laptop market, although the release date remains undisclosed.
