Google partners with Samsung to unveil the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus, a premium notebook under the Chromebook Plus brand that made its debut in 2023. Featuring a standout 15.6″ OLED display, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus boasts a sleek design at just 11.8 millimeters thin and weighing 1.17 kilograms, making it the thinnest and lightest in the Chromebook Plus lineup.
The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus is powered by an Intel Core i3 100U (Raptor Lake-R) processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a battery life of up to 13 hours. It is set to be released in October at a price of $699.
One intriguing feature of the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus is the inclusion of a Quick Insert button, located in the same position as the Caps Lock key on the keyboard. When pressed, ChromeOS opens the Quick Insert menu, allowing users to easily insert emojis, GIFs, URLs from open tabs, dates and times, appointments from Calendar, files from Google Drive, unit conversions, and even summon Gemini to assist in crafting sentences.
Google mentions that the Quick Insert button is exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus (other Chromebook models will start receiving it next year), but users of other Chromebook models can now configure their Caps Lock key to function as a Quick Insert button today.
