Last week, Xiaomi unveiled its flagship smartphone of the year, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, in China just a few days before the global launch of the Xiaomi 14 Series on February 25, 2024. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra continues to focus on camera excellence, much like its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Sporting a 6.73″ LTPO AMOLED 120Hz display and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra maintains the high specifications seen in the earlier Xiaomi 14 Pro model, albeit with a flat screen instead of a curved one.
The main point of differentiation between the Ultra and Pro models lies in the rear camera setup. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra features a large circular design housing four 50MP cameras, matching the resolution of each camera to that of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The primary camera has been upgraded with a Sony LYT900 1″ sensor, the current top-of-the-line sensor from Sony, and is protected by Shield Glass for added durability. Other specifications include a 32MP front camera and a larger 5,300 mAh battery compared to the Pro model, with support for 90W fast charging as opposed to the Pro’s 120W capabilities.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes bundled with the Professional Photography Kit, a grip containing a 1,500 mAh battery with separate video capture and camera adjustment buttons, as well as a dial for changing camera settings and a lens ring for the rear camera setup, all in an eye-catching orange color.
The starting price for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in China is 6,499 yuan (approximately 33,000 baht) for the 12GB/256GB model.
