Unveiling TraceMark: The Cutting-Edge Gaming Watermark Technology for Tracking Unauthorized Image/Video Releases

At GDC 2024, Irdeto, the developer behind Denuvo software, unveiled a new watermarking technology called TraceMark for Gaming. This innovative solution embeds invisible watermarks using cutting-edge technology that has never been seen before, utilized in film studios, Hollywood, sports leagues, and subscription TV providers.

TraceMark for Gaming is a watermarking product tailored specifically for the gaming industry. It seamlessly integrates into developers’ normal workflow, allowing them to insert watermarks into games during development. It can add visible and invisible watermarks, making each copy of the game uniquely watermarked.

The main aim is to assist developers in identifying who leaked game code or assets before release or distribution. Denuvo provides tracking devices to developers to gather information proactively.

This technology targets in-house game testers, players in Closed Beta versions, media, content creators, or individuals authorized by developers to access the game early. TraceMark ensures that content does not leak, as it can trace back to the source.
