Unverified: Dell Closes $5 Billion Deal to Sell New Server Lot with GB200 Chipset for xAI

Bloomberg reports that Dell Technologies is close to finalizing a deal worth $5 billion with xAI, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, to acquire servers for AI processing.

The report indicates that this Dell server will come equipped with NVIDIA’s GB200 chips.

Currently, xAI utilizes GPUs for AI processing, with its main model being Grok, of which there are over 100,000 instances. There have been reports that Musk aims to acquire at least 1 million GPUs.

Previously, Elon Musk’s X also closed a deal to purchase AI processing servers from HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) worth around $1 billion. Last year, xAI bought servers from both Dell and Supermicro, splitting the systems equally.
