Amazon Web Services or AWS has announced the establishment of the AWS Asia Pacific (Bangkok) Region in Thailand. The new region is set to commence operations in early 2025 with an investment of $5 billion or approximately 1.9 trillion baht until 2580. It will cater to developers, startups, entrepreneurs, as well as government agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations looking to utilize cloud services in Thailand.
This new AWS Region in Thailand will be an integral part of AWS’s infrastructure in the country, complementing the existing 10 Amazon CloudFront edge locations, AWS Outposts, and AWS Local Zones already present. It will be the fourth AWS Region in the Southeast Asia region, following Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
Moreover, AWS has also announced continuous operations in their cloud skills training program in Thailand, which began in 2560 with a target of training 100,000 individuals by 2569.
