Veeam, the developer of enterprise-level data backup software, has officially announced support for Proxmox VE after starting the trial earlier this year in response to user demands. Proxmox is the second virtualization system to be added, following Oracle Linux KVM. However, Proxmox support is currently in a testing phase and is expected to be generally available for real-world use in the third quarter.
According to Veeam, their data platform is designed to integrate with various virtualization software, storage systems, and clouds to allow customers to easily migrate systems for budget savings or to access new features.
Proxmox itself already has Proxmox Backup Server software, but Proxmox CEO, Martin Maurer, expressed excitement at Veeam’s support for their platform.
