WhatsApp has announced support for Passkey logins for iOS users, following its availability on Android since last October. The update will be gradually rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.
According to WhatsApp, the switch to Passkey login is aimed at reducing risks associated with the traditional method of authentication via SMS codes. On iOS, users can authenticate through Passkey by choosing from options such as Face ID, Touch ID, or using the device’s Apple pin.
To enable this feature, users can go to WhatsApp Settings, select Account, and then Passkeys.
TLDR: WhatsApp introduces Passkey login option for iOS users, offering enhanced security features for authentication.
