Whispers of a Resurrected Classic: Resident Evil 1 Set for Another Remake, Anticipated Release in 2026 to Celebrate 30 Years of the Franchise

Information from YouTube channel Biohazard Declassified reveals that they have received information from an anonymous source stating that Capcom is planning to remake the first installment of the Resident Evil game series. The unofficial title for this remake is rumored to be Biohazard: Resident Evil 1. Some key details of the game include a slower pacing compared to Resident Evil 2 Remake, a change in the camera perspective to third-person view, unique models for each zombie as the original game had fewer enemy varieties, the inclusion of Crimson Heads (red zombies), increased ammo usage for killing zombies compared to Resident Evil 2 Remake, expanded content from the original game, and the absence of pre-rendered backgrounds.

Additionally, Dusk Golem, a reliable leaker, has provided fairly accurate information suggesting that the Resident Evil 1 Remake is planned for release in 2026 to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The first installment of Resident Evil was initially released in 1996 on the PlayStation 1 and has since been remade in 2002 for the GameCube as Resident Evil, and in 2006 for the Nintendo DS as Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. The 2002 version was later remastered for the PS3 and PS4 consoles.
