Whispers of Apple’s Abandonment of AR Smart Glasses Development Rumors Surface

The information provided by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reveals Apple’s plans for a new product: smart AR glasses that connect to Mac for operation. This product was scheduled to be launched in 2027, but the project has since been canceled.

Gurman explains that Apple’s interest in creating these glasses stemmed from a desire to develop a work headset product that could be more accessible to the general public. The glasses, codenamed N107, would display information on a screen when connected to a Mac. Originally intended to connect to the iPhone, Apple encountered several issues and decided to focus on Mac instead.

While Apple may have scrapped its smart glasses project, another tech giant, Meta, is also presenting a similar product named Orion. However, this product is still in the prototype stage with no confirmed release date or price.

TLDR: Apple planned to release AR smart glasses that connect to Mac but canceled the project. Meta is also working on a similar product called Orion, still in the early stages.
