Whispers of the Black Samurai: Yasuke Still Lingers in AC: Shadows, Yet Plot Modifications Ahead

Tom Henderson, a gaming Insider Gaming journalist, has provided in-depth information regarding the overhaul plan for the game Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which has been announced to be postponed until February 2025.

The samurai Yasuke will still be present in the game, but the storyline will be adjusted to better align with Japanese history and culture, while still staying true to the Assassin’s Creed universe.

Numerous issues with Assassin’s Creed Shadows were uncovered during external playtesting before the game’s public release. These issues arose from hiring a team of historians too late in the game development process and miscommunication between teams during the critical final stages.

The game is not yet ready for release, with some members of the internal team being aware of this from the beginning and attempting to push for a delay. However, the higher-ups initially disregarded these concerns, leading the management team to ultimately decide to postpone the release due to poor reception of Star Wars Outlaws.
