Whispers of the Future: iPhone SE 4 to Feature OLED Display, Bidding Farewell to LCD Screens on All New iPhones

Nikkei Asia reports that Apple is planning to upgrade all new iPhone models to use OLED screens, with the exception of the iPhone SE which currently uses an LCD screen. This further confirms that the upcoming iPhone SE 4, expected to be released next year, will feature an OLED display.

This shift has resulted in suppliers of LCD screens, such as Japan Display (JDI) and Sharp, having their advance purchase orders cancelled.

Previously, both Mark Gurman from Bloomberg and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo have provided information that the iPhone SE 4 will utilize OLED screens, with a body design similar to the iPhone 14 and a 6.1-inch display.

Apple has been incorporating OLED screens in iPhones since the iPhone X, and has gradually upgraded all iPhone models to feature OLED displays. Currently, all iPhone 15 models come with OLED screens.
