With only 6 months left until Windows 10 reaches the end of support on October 14, 2025, Microsoft seems firm on the deadline without any further extensions. However, the user base for Windows 11 has not yet reached half of all users currently.
The latest statistics from Statcounter in March 2025 measuring the usage share of Windows operating systems found that Windows 11 holds 42.69% of the share, still below half of the total. Meanwhile, Windows 10 remains the most widely used operating system with a share of 54.2%.
Nevertheless, the trend shows an increase in the share for Windows 11 while Windows 10 is decreasing. It is therefore expected that within the next 3 months, Windows 11 will surpass Windows 10 in share.
