After the unveiling of XeSS 2 alongside Intel Battlemage and 10 supported games, Intel has now posted XeSS 2 on GitHub, along with plugins for Unreal Engine and Unity to enable developers to add XeSS support themselves.
XeSS 2 consists of 3 parts: XeSS-SR, the existing image upscaling AI for games now with added support for Vulkan 1.1 and DirectX 11 (which FSR does not yet support), can be used as a replacement for XeSS 1. Additionally, the new features include XeSS Frame Generation (XeSS-FG) for frame creation with AI and XeSS Low Latency (XeLL) to reduce input lag similar to NVIDIA Reflex or AMD AntiLag.
All the new features in XeSS 2 are exclusively compatible with Intel Arc graphics cards, both discrete and onboard. Other graphics cards like Intel Iris or other brands can only utilize XeSS within the XeSS-SR image upscaling system.

TLDR: Intel introduces XeSS 2 with new features for image upscaling and reduced latency, available only for Intel Arc graphics cards.
