YouTube Conducts Test on New Video Playback Interface: Swapping Position of Description and Featured Video

There have been reports from some YouTube users in the past week that they have noticed changes in the appearance of the YouTube.com website. The most significant change is the relocation of video descriptions to the right sidebar, and the comment box has been moved to the bottom right sidebar as well.

With this new layout, the previous suggested videos that were on the right sidebar have now shifted below the video player. The feedback from those who have encountered this change has been mostly negative, with many feeling that this layout resembles other video playback apps.

YouTube has confirmed that this is a limited test to a select number of users, and if users who are part of the test do not like it or have other suggestions, they are encouraged to provide feedback.

TLDR: YouTube is testing a new layout that moves video descriptions and comment boxes to different sidebars, with mixed feedback from users.
