Caution to Buyers of the New iPhone 15: Upgrade to iOS 17.0.2 Before Direct Data Transfer from Previous iPhone

Apple has started delivering and selling the iPhone 15 today, the first day in Thailand. However, it seems that there have been some small issues since day one. If users choose to transfer data from their old iPhone directly (From Another iPhone), they may encounter a problem where the Apple logo gets stuck and the device becomes unresponsive.

Apple has stated that this issue affects all versions of the iPhone 15, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

For those who have not yet transferred any data, it is advised to update the iOS that comes with the new iPhone, which is iOS 17, to the latest version, iOS 17.0.2, first. Apple has specified that this update fixes the issue that occurs during direct data transfer from the old iPhone.

In the case of encountering the issue during direct data transfer, the solution is to reset the device. The steps are as follows (full details on the Apple website).

Restore the iPhone using a computer by connecting it to the computer with a cable. Press and release the volume up button, then press and release the volume down button. Next, press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears. Continue holding it until the image of the cable connecting to the computer appears. Then, use Finder (Mac) or iTunes (PC) to initiate the restore and update.

Once the “Hello” screen appears, select the new phone setup and update the iOS software. After updating, users can choose their desired data transfer method.
