The Enigmatic Encounter: Wireless Charging Dock Malfunctions Incited by BMW Automobile Unveil Potential Detriment to iPhone 15’s NFC Chip

Last week, several BMW users encountered an issue with the NFC chip of the iPhone 15. Despite charging it with the wireless charging pad in their BMW cars, the iPhone’s NFC chip stopped working for some, turning the screen white and entering data recovery mode. After that, the NFC chip ceased to function following a reboot.

Though the NFC chip on the iPhone can be used with features like Apple Pay and Digital Car Key, when the device encounters a problem, a warning message pops up in the Wallet app saying, “Unable to set up Apple Pay.” Users have reported that Apple provides replacement iPhones after confirming the NFC chip issue, but the new devices are also susceptible to the same problem.

The affected models include the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, but it may also occur on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. However, the exact cause, number of affected users, and which BMW car models are impacted have not been clarified.

TLDR: Some BMW users have experienced issues with the NFC chip on their iPhone 15, which stops working after using the wireless charging pad in their cars. The affected models include the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, but details about the cause and the extent of impact are still unknown.
