Google Photos has announced two new features that use AI to make organizing photos in your library easier. The first feature is called Photo Stacks, which helps manage a large number of photos taken in quick succession. With Photo Stacks, Google Photos can group similar shots together and display the best-looking image. Users can also edit and select their favorite photos or choose to disable this feature. Interestingly, Google states that one in every three photos in a user’s library is a duplicate.
The second feature is aimed at the screenshot and document-capturing crowd. Using AI, Google Photos can group and categorize different types of documents from images, such as business cards, receipts, and schedules. This makes it easier to search for specific documents in the future.
Both of these features have already started rolling out to both Android and iOS users.
TLDR: Google Photos introduces two new AI-powered features – Photo Stacks for organizing similar photos and grouping screenshots/documents for easier searching.
