Capcom has unveiled and teased the upcoming Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, a remastered version of the first Dead Rising game which was originally released in 2006 on Xbox 360. This game was later ported to the Wii as Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop in 2009. The first remastered version was released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2016.
Within the teaser, Capcom did not specify which parts of the game will be enhanced and when it will be released. However, it is evident that the graphics have been improved to fit modern standards.
In the original Dead Rising, players assume the role of Frank West, a journalist who finds himself trapped in Willamette Parkview Mall and must escape within 3 days. The game is an open-world survival horror where players navigate through the mall facing various forms of zombies, drawing inspiration from George A. Romero’s 1978 film, Dawn of the Dead.
