Google has announced the release of the “take notes for me” feature, which allows Gemini to automatically summarize meetings in Google Meet. After the meeting is done, the meeting summary file can be converted to Google Docs.
This feature is not new, as Google previously had the Duet AI feature summarizing Meet meetings back in 2023. However, this time they have upgraded the model to Gemini, which has improved capabilities. The usage involves a Gemini button appearing in the top right corner, where you can command Gemini to listen to the meeting and take notes.
This feature is only available on computers, supports only the English language, and requires purchasing the Gemini Enterprise premium package or buying the AI Meetings & Messaging extension from the standard package.
TLDR: Google introduces the “take notes for me” feature in Google Meet, utilizing Gemini to automate meeting summaries and convert them to Google Docs.
