Whispers of Next-Gen Xbox Hardware: Introducing Both Traditional Console and Portable Gaming Device

The website Windows Central reports from its own internal sources that the upcoming Xbox hardware will have at least 2 smaller models, including a traditional console following the Xbox Series X and Microsoft’s first portable gaming device resembling the Steam Deck.

Windows Central predicts that Microsoft may unveil the new generation hardware in November 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of the original Xbox’s debut in 2001. Sarah Bond, head of Xbox, previously confirmed earlier this year that they are developing a new console with significantly enhanced performance, while Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, has mentioned the portable console on multiple occasions.

Towards the end of this year, Microsoft released a minor update for the Xbox Series X|S, introducing a 2TB storage option and adding a black/white color choice. However, it has been clarified that this update will not be as substantial as the rumored PS5 Pro upgrade.
