The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) in collaboration with TOT Public Company Limited (TOT) and Operator have announced a plan to test the Cell Broadcast System (CBS) in May 2568, divided into 3 rounds over 3 days as follows:
On May 2, 2568, at 13:00 hrs, a small-scale test will be conducted within government buildings in 5 areas: Chiang Rai, Ubon Ratchathani, Suphan Buri, Songkhla, and the government complex in Chaengwattana, Bangkok.
On May 7, 2568, at 13:00 hrs, a medium-scale test at the district level will be carried out in 5 areas: Mueang Lampang District, Mueang Khon Kaen District, Mueang Nakhon Sawan District, Mueang Surat Thani District, and Din Daeng District, Bangkok.
On May 13, 2568, at 13:00 hrs, a large-scale test at the provincial level will be implemented in 5 areas: Chiang Mai Province, Udon Thani Province, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Nakhon Sri Thammarat Province, and Bangkok Metropolitan.
The test messages will state: “Test Cell Broadcast notification from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM). Please do not be alarmed” “This is a test message from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM). No action required.”
After each level of testing, the effectiveness of disaster notification will be evaluated for future improvement.
