Google launches smart home control feature for Google TV and Chromecast with Google TV.

9to5google has reported that Google has begun rolling out an update for the Home Panel feature to control smart home devices on Chromecast with Google TV and Google TV smart TVs.

This feature was previously available on the Google TV Streamer device that replaced Chromecast in 2024, and is now slowly being released to other hardware on the Google TV platform, such as smart TVs and Chromecast with Google TV.

The Home Panel feature allows us to command smart home devices connected to the Google Home platform directly from the TV, such as turning lights on and off, adjusting air conditioner temperature, and viewing footage from security cameras, among other functions.
