Canalys, a market research company, has released a report on the AI-capable PC market in the fourth quarter of 2024, delivering a total of 15.4 million units, accounting for 23% of all PCs delivered in the quarter. The total figures for the year 2024 amount to 17%.
Canalys defines AI-capable PCs as laptops or desktops equipped with AI workloads chips, such as AMD’s XDNA, Intel’s AI Boost, Apple’s Neural Engine, or Qualcomm’s Hexagon.
In this market segment, Apple takes the lead with a 45% share, while the overall PC market sees the company holding only a 10% share, followed by Lenovo at 15%, HP at 14%, and Dell at 9%.
The overall figures for AI-capable PCs are expected to increase significantly this year due to the end of support for Windows 10, leading to more PC upgrades and purchases of AI-capable models.
