Graphics cards nowadays are becoming larger and heavier, reaching over 2 kilograms in weight (including fans), which may pose a problem when trying to fit them into the PCIe slots horizontally parallel to the floor, a popular setup in general tower PCs, as there is a risk of the card sagging.
Recently, ASUS released an update for their ROG Astral GeForce RTX 50 series cards that can detect from software whether the card is tilted downward from the normal level it should be, thanks to the inclusion of an accelerometer and gyroscope chip in the card. This has shed light on the fact that these ROG Astral cards (which have been on the market for a while now) have these chips to detect the card’s tilt, something that was not present in previous ROG card models. ASUS never announced this beforehand, so nobody knew until the feature was activated in the software.
