Pinterest has announced a content management plan on their platform created from Generative AI using a tool that tags content types as Gen AI automatically. This has been globally effective since today, which Pinterest has been testing since March.
When users click to view content generated by AI, a message stating “AI modified” will appear at the bottom left corner, which is an automatic tagging using data from metadata or Pinterest’s verification system, with a reporting system for creators if they find inaccuracies in the tagging.
For viewers, they will have the option in the future to display less content generated by Gen AI, signaling to Pinterest’s system to decrease the AI content on feeds.
Pinterest states that Gen AI is a tool that helps generate new ideas effectively, but transparency in content presentation is also crucial.

TLDR: Pinterest introduces Gen AI for content creation, with automated tagging and user control over AI-generated content display. Transparecy important.
