AWS has announced its plan to establish a region in Malaysia and is preparing to invest six billion US dollars

AWS is now focusing on extending its footprint in the Southeast Asian market ๐Ÿ’ป, having announced the construction of a new area in Thailand last year ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ, and now another in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ

Like other AWS regions, the new Malaysia region will have three Availability Zones, each segregated from the others and connected by high-speed fiber-optic lines, as well as backup mechanisms to assure optimum uptime.

Aside from data center building, AWS intends to invest at least $6 billion USD (255,000 million ringgit) in Malaysia by 2037, which will include workforce development and other areas.

Given that many public and private sector businesses in Malaysia currently use AWS, this investment is expected to improve AWS’s regional growth and profitability.
