AWS is now focusing on extending its footprint in the Southeast Asian market 💻, having announced the construction of a new area in Thailand last year 🇹🇭, and now another in Malaysia 🇲🇾
Like other AWS regions, the new Malaysia region will have three Availability Zones, each segregated from the others and connected by high-speed fiber-optic lines, as well as backup mechanisms to assure optimum uptime.
Aside from data center building, AWS intends to invest at least $6 billion USD (255,000 million ringgit) in Malaysia by 2037, which will include workforce development and other areas.
Given that many public and private sector businesses in Malaysia currently use AWS, this investment is expected to improve AWS’s regional growth and profitability.
