YouTube Premium Lite is an affordable package that eliminates ads in most videos, with the exception of music videos. The only ads that will appear are banners and those on the search page. However, users will not be able to play videos in a locked screen or download them. The service will be discontinued in Europe starting from October 25th.
The first group of European countries to have access to Premium Lite were Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, starting from mid-2021. This service has not expanded to other European countries. Customers using this package will receive a free 1-month trial of the regular Premium package, even if they have previously used the trial.
This change came after YouTube announced price increases for Premium in the United States and blocked the ad-locked playback feature on browsers.
As for Thailand, there have been no changes yet, as Premium Lite was just launched in July of this year.
TLDR: YouTube Premium Lite is a cost-effective option that removes most ads, except in music videos. However, it does not allow video playback on locked screens or downloads. The service is being discontinued in Europe, while some countries in Europe have recently gained access to this package.
