OpenAI has disclosed that the company currently has over 1 million paid customers for ChatGPT in the business sector, including ChatGPT Enterprise, Team, and Edu accounts from educational institutions. This figure has increased from 600,000 accounts in April.
More than half of the users across the three groups come from outside the United States, with a significant number of applicants from Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom. The business categories served are diverse, ranging from universities to pharmaceutical companies, e-commerce, and banks.
OpenAI also conducted a survey of 4,700 customers, with 92% reporting increased productivity in their work, 88% stating that ChatGPT helps save time, and 75% mentioning its assistance in creative thinking and innovation.
